The Australian Biological Alliance

Stratcon Australia Pty Ltd and Viridis Solutions Pty Ltd are the founding members of this export alliance. The ABA seeks to take water, waste water and renewable energy technology.

The Current focus is to promote areas of core expertise including

• Waste water from municipal solid waste processing conversion to biogas for power and heat applications,
• Waste water (POME) from palm oil mills to biogas for power and heat applications,
• Solid chicken waste to biogas for power and grain drying,
• Waste water from cassava starch processing for power and starch drying,
• Piggery, cattle yard and rendering waste to biogas for heat and power applications,
• Small scale village applications of biogas from solid digestible waste,
• Processing of specialty waste (ethanol, biofuel and process waste waters) to biogas and secondary treatment prior to safe discharge

With firm support from Austrade and the Victorian Government (through the Melbourne Carbon Cluster), the ABA is actively pursing projects regionally. The ABA expects to announce its first project in Q3 2011.
